DEADLINE: Ouija 2, Mike Flanagan’s follow-up to last year’s tiny-budgeted sleeper Ouija, has scared up new cast additions Parker Mack (MTV’s Faking It), Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel (Demon Legacy) and Doug Jones (Falling Skies). They join the previously announced Henry Thomas (Betrayal), Annalise Basso (Oculus), Elizabeth Reaser (True Detective) and Lulu Wilson (Deliver Us From Evil).
Flanagan, taking over the directing spot from the first film’s Stiles White, will write the screenplay with Jeff Howard (Oculus).
The sequel, from Universal Pictures, Platinum Dunes, Blumhouse Productions and Hasbro — maker of the famous spirit board — is set for an October 21, 2016, release. The $5 million original film grossed more than $100 million at the worldwide box office.
